The Immigrant
Partridge, Ralph - (no relationship to George)
was a much respected minister of the Duxbury church for over 20 years.
He was selected in 1637 to serve on a committee of three persons to compose
the "Platform of Church Discipline" for the Cambridge Synod. The other
two members: only Cotton and Mathers, two of the most celebrated preachers
of their time. Pretty heady company.

Abt 1636.
Occupation:
Minister at Duxbury, Mass church his entire life in the New World.

Sources and Resources
History of the Town of Duxbury, Justin Winsor, 1849, p 171-178 Has
an eight page biography of Ralph Partridge. The text of the book
also has several references to the Reverend Ralph.
The Great Migration Begins, Anderson, 1995. Reverend Ralph arrived
in 1636, so is not eligible for a separate sketch in this book, that focuses
on immigrants before the end of 1633. He is contained in the index, however,
as he is referred to in several places in the text.
NEHGR, Vol 5, p. 387, 1851. A summary of, with partial transcriptions
of, the will of Ralph Partridge. Note, also a summary of the will is in
the biography of him in the History of the Town of Duxbury, Justin Winsor.

Notes, Questions, Errata
Genealogy of Patience Kemp
There has been reported, and continues to be perpetuated in some
places, the myth that Patience Kemp was his great granddaughter, not his
granddaughter. Patience Kemp was a child from daughter Elizabeth Patridge's
earlier marriage to William Kemp and was not a daughter of Elizabeth with
her second husband, Thomas Thacher. See more details at the
Kemp page.
Genealogy of his sister: Elizabeth (Partridge)
Tidge?
I have not seen where anyone has "found" his sister, named in his
will, and done a genealogy on her. It may exist, I just haven't see it.
Where is his eulogy, supposedly in print?

The original
proprietors of Bridgewater, Mass, in 1645. includes both Ralph and
George. Bridgewater is approximately 10 miles inland from the Plymouth
colony, almost directly west. I'm not sure what their relationship is to
Bridgewater, other than possibly just to be landowners. All information
I have to date indicates they lived and died in Duxbury. Note: it doesn't
appear he ever lived there. He apparently purchased this land for investment.
It is mentioned in his will. Duxbury is on the coast, north of Plymouth.
Bridgewater is about ten miles inland from Plymouth.
