John Child

Watertown, Mass - 1630's

John Child was probably born in England, about 1636. He came to be with his uncle, Ephraim Child, possibly returning with Ephraim Child when Ephraim once visited England. He is included in a network of aunts, uncles and cousins that migrated to America, all descended from English patriarch and matriarch Wolston and Ellen (Empson) Child.

Kansas Pioneers Lineage

Note: Known to be a nephew of Ephraim Child, this John Child was likely the son of Ephraim's brother Joshua. This is not positively proven, but by process of elimination of the other known brothers named in the will of John Bradshaw (Hyde/Child, Will of Bradshaw, John - 1606/1606,  (TAG 63:17-28, 1988), "son of my sister Warren.") This Joshua probably died in England and John either accompanied or his uncle, or moved to join him after Ephraim was settled in the New World.
