General Nathanael Greene - Most historians say our most valuable general during the Revolution, after George Washington.

Was not a Southwick, but does have a Southwick connection, as he was the son of a step-daughter of Cassandra Southwick (Josiah2, Lawrence1). Descendants of Cassandra and Jacob Mott are half-cousins to General Greene through their Mott ancestry.
